Extract BMW ISN from an EEPROM or flash file
- Select your ECU and check the required memory type.
- Upload the original raw file and sign in to view your result.
- Read and copy the ISN numbers on screen. If candidates disagree, review both records.
Supported ECU choices
EEPROM readers include EDC16, MEV17.4.6, EDC17 / MEVD17 / MED17 families, MD1 / MG1 and legacy DDE 3 / DDE 4. Full flash readers include Bosch ME9 / ME9.2 and Siemens MS42, MS43, MS45, MSV70 and the MSV80 / MSD8x family. MSS65 requires its MPC563 flash dump. The selector lists the variants and file requirements.
Why can there be two ISN candidates?
A file can contain several stored records. Matching values are grouped; different values appear as separate candidates. The extractor keeps engine and gearbox values from the same record together.
What if no ISN is found?
Check the ECU selection and memory type. Partial reads and unsupported layouts may not contain the required data. Source offsets and extraction details are available with the result.
Does the tool change the file or program the vehicle?
Extraction reads the uploaded file without modifying it. Vehicle programming and module adaptation are separate workshop tasks. See our ECU testing services for workshop support.
