Free DTC off / DTC removal tool

LTEditor supports DTC off / masking on 389 ECU/application entries. Upload an ECU binary, open DTC Errors, select the diagnostic trouble codes you want to disable and review the changes before saving a new version.

DTC off, DTC delete and DTC removal refer here to masking selected codes in the ECU file. The editor shows the records found in your upload; it does not read or clear a vehicle's live fault memory.

• See their current state: distinguish enabled, disabled and partially disabled codes.
• Preview DTC-off changes: review the selected codes, byte changes and any related codes affected by shared controls.
• Keep your original: save the edited binary as another project version.
• Restore supported codes: re-enable a code when the saved original contains the complete, verified enabled records.

Coverage includes Bosch EDC15, EDC16, EDC17, MD1 and MG1 applications; petrol ME, MED, MEV and MEVD families; Siemens SID, Simos and BMW MSS; and the other ECUs listed below. Each application has its own supported file layouts and DTC records.

Show every ECU with DTC-off support

LTEditor supports map discovery and editing for VW Group PD (Pumpe Düse) engines using Bosch EDC15P, EDC15P+ and EDC15P6. Open your ECU file to browse detected maps, inspect values and axes, preview changes and save an edited version.

Coverage includes EDC15-equipped Volkswagen, Audi, SEAT and Skoda applications. The editor also includes EDC15V and EDC15VM variants for other VAG TDI engines. Later PD engines can use EDC16 or Siemens PPD; check their individual functions in the ECU list below.

Map availability follows the detected file layout. The engine-code examples follow Ross-Tech's PD engine reference.

BMW M3 & M5 ECU support

Work with supported BMW M ECU files using the same free editor, project history and change preview.

MSS52, MSS54 and MSS54HP settings include supported idle speeds, RPM limits, throttle response and other software-specific options. MSS60 calibration settings currently require software 0569QT0Z240E and a matching file layout. LTEditor shows which settings are available after reading your file.

BMW MSS calibration and diagnostic options

• Engine speed and response: idle-speed presets, stationary and driving RPM limits, comfort/sport throttle response, speed-limit settings and supported cold-start settings.
• Driving and instruments: sport-mode behaviour, warm-up lights, shift lights and steering-assistance values.
• Manual / SMG and CSL: transmission coding, SMG final-drive and inertia presets, CSL shifting, cruise-control settings and intake-flap thresholds on applicable software.
• Sensors and cooling: IAT and supported CSL MAP-sensor presets, Alpha-N, fan settings, clutch-switch and gear-position-sensor settings, EGT settings and catalyst-protection values.
• Optional MSS52 / MSS54 / MSS54HP settings: supported overrun/burble and EWS settings. Backfire presets are available on matching MSS54 / MSS54HP software.
• Diagnostic groups: supported secondary-air, catalyst and rear-O2 DTC groups, plus software-specific thermostat, internal-DME and CSL-flap diagnostic options.

These options vary by ECU and software. MSS60 has its own smaller set of RPM, temperature, speed-limit and diagnostic functions. MSS65 coverage here is DTC off / masking.

DTC, DPF, EGR, AdBlue & other free ECU tools

DPF means diesel particulate filter, EGR means exhaust gas recirculation, and AdBlue is used by SCR (selective catalytic reduction) systems. Each solution has its own ECU coverage. DTC-off support alone does not establish DPF, EGR or AdBlue calibration support.

The workspace also includes a manual hex editor, original-file retention, change previews, saved versions, version imports and downloads. These tools and the supported ECU functions are completely free.
