LTEditor: Free Online Remap Editor

LTEditor supports map discovery and editing for VW Group PD (Pumpe Düse) engines using Bosch EDC15P, EDC15P+ and EDC15P6. Open your ECU file to browse detected maps, inspect values and axes, preview changes and save an edited version.

Browse detected maps such as driver wish, torque limiters, boost targets and injection maps where present in your file. Switch between table, graph and split views to work with numerical values and see the shape of a calibration. Built-in detection gets supported PD files started without creating a map definition first.

Coverage includes EDC15-equipped Volkswagen, Audi, SEAT and Skoda applications. The editor also includes EDC15V and EDC15VM variants for other VAG TDI engines. Later PD engines can use EDC16 or Siemens PPD; check their individual functions in the ECU list below.

Map availability follows the detected file layout. The engine-code examples follow Ross-Tech's PD engine reference.

Custom map definitions: build your own tuning project

Create your own map definitions and work on them in your saved project. LTEditor supports manually defined scalars, curves and tables, alongside its automatic map detection. Define the maps you know in your ECU binary, then use the editor to inspect and edit their values.

• Describe each map: set its name, file address, rows, columns, value type, byte order, units and scaling.
• Define the axes: use fixed values, values read from memory, labels or index positions to describe the map.
• Import existing definitions: upload CSV, XDF or A2L files, review the available maps and activate your selection.
• Keep developing your project: retain definitions and their revisions alongside your original binary and saved file versions.

Custom definitions let you work beyond the automatically detected maps. They must match your binary's addresses and data layout; automatic ECU solutions still follow the separate support list below. For supported source formats, our free map definition extractor can also prepare WinOLS CSV.

A full online hex editor for ECU files

Work directly with the binary in LTEditor's hex editor. Inspect the entire flash dump, jump to an address, search bytes and switch between 8, 16 and 32-bit views. A linked 2D graph and data inspector help you examine the values behind the maps.

Make manual byte edits, compare saved data with the original, review pending changes and save a new file version. You can also create a map definition from a selection in the hex view.

Free remap editing and checksum correction in your browser

Use LTEditor and the separate free ECU checksum calculator and corrector together, from your original ECU read to an edited, checksum-checked file on supported applications.

1. Create a project. Sign in with a free account and upload your ECU binary. Keep the unmodified read as your original.
2. Choose your maps. Use automatic detection where supported, import definitions or create your own custom maps.
3. Edit and review. Work in the map or hex editor, preview the changes, save a version and download the edited binary.
4. Check the checksum. Open the checksum corrector with the matching original and modified files. Confirm the ECU profile and download a corrected file when correction and verification succeed.

LTEditor downloads are marked "Checksum not calculated". Checksum coverage is listed separately in the corrector. Reading and writing the vehicle's ECU requires compatible hardware; these browser tools work on the files you upload.

Free DTC off / DTC removal tool

LTEditor supports DTC off / masking on 390 ECU/application entries. Upload an ECU binary, open DTC Errors, select the diagnostic trouble codes you want to disable and review the changes before saving a new version.

DTC off, DTC delete and DTC removal refer here to masking selected codes in the ECU file. The editor shows the records found in your upload; it does not read or clear a vehicle's live fault memory.

• Find individual codes: search and browse the DTC records supported for your file.
• See their current state: distinguish enabled, disabled and partially disabled codes.
• Preview DTC-off changes: review the selected codes, byte changes and any related codes affected by shared controls.
• Keep your original: save the edited binary as another project version.
• Restore supported codes: re-enable a code when the saved original contains the complete, verified enabled records.

Coverage includes Bosch EDC15, EDC16, EDC17, MD1 and MG1 applications; petrol ME, MED, MEV and MEVD families; Siemens SID, Simos and BMW MSS; and the other ECUs listed below. Each application has its own supported file layouts and DTC records.

MSS52, MSS54 and MSS54HP settings include supported idle speeds, RPM limits, throttle response and other software-specific options. MSS60 calibration settings currently require software 0569QT0Z240E and a matching file layout. LTEditor shows which settings are available after reading your file.

BMW MSS calibration and diagnostic options

• Engine speed and response: idle-speed presets, stationary and driving RPM limits, comfort/sport throttle response, speed-limit settings and supported cold-start settings.
• Driving and instruments: sport-mode behaviour, warm-up lights, shift lights and steering-assistance values.
• Manual / SMG and CSL: transmission coding, SMG final-drive and inertia presets, CSL shifting, cruise-control settings and intake-flap thresholds on applicable software.
• Sensors and cooling: IAT and supported CSL MAP-sensor presets, Alpha-N, fan settings, clutch-switch and gear-position-sensor settings, EGT settings and catalyst-protection values.
• Optional MSS52 / MSS54 / MSS54HP settings: supported overrun/burble and EWS settings. Backfire presets are available on matching MSS54 / MSS54HP software.
• Diagnostic groups: supported secondary-air, catalyst and rear-O2 DTC groups, plus software-specific thermostat, internal-DME and CSL-flap diagnostic options.

These options vary by ECU and software. MSS60 has its own smaller set of RPM, temperature, speed-limit and diagnostic functions. MSS65 coverage here is DTC off / masking.

DTC, DPF, EGR, AdBlue & other free ECU tools

DPF means diesel particulate filter, EGR means exhaust gas recirculation, and AdBlue is used by SCR (selective catalytic reduction) systems. Each solution has its own ECU coverage. DTC-off support alone does not establish DPF, EGR or AdBlue calibration support.

The hex editor, custom map definitions, saved projects and supported ECU solutions are all included. There is no paid tier or charge to unlock these functions.
