A custom calibration at Llandow is written with the car in the workshop. The file is not emailed in from somewhere else and loaded in the car park.
There are three different jobs that all get called a remap. A well-developed off-the-shelf map can suit a car that matches the specification it was written for. A file written by someone else and installed locally is a different service. A calibration written and revised here, with the car present for checks and logs, is the third. We explain that split on the custom tuning page.
What “the car is here” changes
With the car in the unit we can see the fault codes, the live data and the way it answers under load. If boost, temperature or fuelling is not what the calibration assumed, the file can be revised before you leave. A file written for a group of cars cannot do that. It was finished before your car arrived.
The workshop is at Unit 11, Sambucus Avenue, Llandow Trading Estate, Cowbridge, CF71 7PB, beside Llandow circuit. Cell one is the bookable Dyno Developments 2WD rolling road. Cell two is the MAHA LPS 2000 4WD dyno, and it is available. Not every calibration needs a full dyno session. The point is that the car, the tools and the person writing the file are in the same place.
What we need from you first
Send the registration before you travel. Tell us the engine, any hardware already fitted, and any file that is already on the car. A long trip for a car we cannot read, or for a fault that should be repaired first, helps nobody. We do not quote a fixed journey time from Cardiff, Bridgend, Swansea or anywhere else. Use a current route on the day.
If you want the calibration written here, check the car or call 01446 355001.
