Inlet manifold removal and refit in South Wales

The manifold has to come off before the real work starts

Swirl flaps, carbon on the valves, a split gasket and a cracked manifold are all jobs you cannot finish with the inlet still on the engine. Llandow Tuning takes the manifold off, deals with what is underneath, and refits it with the gaskets and seals that engine needs.

Valve and port cleaning is walnut blasting. A manifold dirty enough to go in the tank is ultrasonic cleaning. Flap repair and flap removal are on the swirl flap page. This page is the manifold itself: off, inspected, and back on.

Why the manifold comes off

  • To reach swirl flaps that are loose, broken, or being removed.
  • To clean ports and valves that have filled with carbon. The photograph shows that build-up before cleaning.
  • A gasket blowing, a manifold that is cracked, or a leak that only shows once the engine is warm.
  • Injectors, sensors or a throttle that sit on the manifold and have to come off with it.

The gaskets are not reused. Tell us if the manifold has been off before and what was found, so the quote includes the parts from the start.

Quote the whole visit, not just the bolts

Send the registration and what you want done while the manifold is off: flaps, walnut blasting, a new manifold, or a straightforward remove and refit. Access and the gasket set change the time from one engine to the next.

The workshop is at Unit 11 Sambucus Avenue, Llandow Trading Estate, Llandow, CF71 7PB.
