Llandow Tuning assesses coding and programming for supported Volkswagen, Audi, SEAT, CUPRA and Škoda vehicles. From comfort preferences to retrofitted equipment and replacement controllers, we check the vehicle's specification and agree the configuration, software and adaptation work it needs.
Comfort, lighting and dashboard features
Available settings vary by platform and the modules installed. Examples to discuss include:
- Remote comfort window opening or closing and supported automatic locking or unlocking preferences.
- Coming Home and Leaving Home lighting operation and timers, with the required switch and light sensor where applicable.
- Comfort indicator flash count and supported lighting settings for the fitted lamps.
- Heated-seat setting memory on compatible climate controllers.
- Needle sweep on instrument clusters that support staging.
- Mirror folding on locking where powered folding mirrors and compatible door modules are already fitted.
Coding cannot supply missing motors, sensors or control hardware. A feature available on one Golf, Tiguan, A3 or Octavia may be unavailable on another, even within the same model year. We check the requested change against your vehicle's actual equipment and software.
Retrofit coding and replacement controller setup
Supported retrofits can need changes across several controllers. We assess compatible controls, wiring and modules before agreeing the coding for equipment such as factory-style cruise control, lighting or infotainment. Tell us what is already fitted and provide the exact part numbers for anything you plan to install.
Replacement modules may need software programming, configuration, parameter setup, adaptations or basic settings before their functions are available. We assess new and used units individually, including any pairing, component protection or online authorisation requirements.
If the original unit is suspected to be faulty, start with ECU testing. DSG and other gearbox controller work is covered by transmission diagnostics, while key recognition and start-authorisation faults are covered by immobiliser diagnostics.
Battery adaptation and service settings
Many Volkswagen Group vehicles with battery management require a replacement battery to be registered or adapted. The required information and procedure depend on the system fitted and can include the battery's capacity, technology and identification details.
A service reminder reset is a separate procedure after the relevant maintenance. It does not register a new battery or replace component-specific setup. Tell us which work has been carried out so we can identify the appropriate adaptation or reset.
VCDS, ODIS and access on newer vehicles
VCDS is commonly used for Volkswagen Group diagnostics, supported coding, adaptations and basic settings. ODIS provides manufacturer diagnostic and programming procedures where applicable. We establish which procedure and software access the particular job requires.
Some newer vehicles protect configuration with SFD. Current VCDS supports authorised online SFD unlocking for supported functions during a diagnostic session, with the required registered equipment and service access.
SFD2 adds further restrictions to protected changes, including many feature activations and retrofits. An SFD unlock does not remove those restrictions. We assess the affected controllers before confirming what changes are possible.
Component protection is also separate from ordinary coding: VCDS coding alone does not remove it. A replacement or retrofit involving protected components may require a manufacturer procedure with online authorisation, which we assess as part of the job.
See Ross-Tech's model-specific coding examples, battery replacement guidance, SFD and SFD2 explanation and component protection notes for the underlying compatibility detail.
Check your vehicle and proposed parts
Send the registration, make, model and year, current equipment and the change you want. For a replacement or retrofit, include the original and proposed part numbers, whether the unit is new or used, and details of previous programming or warning messages. We agree the scope and checks needed afterwards before the work goes ahead.
Visit our vehicle coding and programming page for the wider service and an explanation of configuration, flashing and adaptation.
Coding options depend on your exact vehicle
Seeing a coding option on a similar vehicle—even the same make, model and year—does not mean your vehicle supports it. Coding reconfigures the electronic modules already fitted; it cannot add missing hardware or give a module capabilities it does not have.
Availability depends on the exact specification, fitted equipment, wiring, module versions and software. Some manufacturers use different modules for different feature packages. Mirror folding, for example, requires suitable powered mirrors and compatible controls.
We must check your vehicle before confirming any option. Additional hardware, replacement modules or software programming are separate work.
