Llandow Tuning provides carburettor cleaning, repairs, rebuilding and tuning at our workshop beside Llandow Race Track. We work with road classics, autograss and other motorsport applications.
Our experience includes SU, Zenith, Weber, Solex, Dell'Orto and Mikuni, as well as Holley, Edelbrock and Rochester carburettors. We can discuss single-carb and multi-carb installations, with the work based on the actual unit, its condition and parts availability.

Servicing, rebuilding or tuning?
- Cleaning and inspection: assess deposits, sticking mechanisms and the condition of the carburettor's parts.
- Repair and rebuild: address the faults found and replace the agreed service parts, subject to availability.
- Setup and tuning: adjust the installation for the engine and intended use, including balancing where applicable.
Suitable dismantled parts can be treated using our ultrasonic cleaning service. Cleaning alone cannot correct a worn spindle, damaged casting or an unsuitable carburettor specification.
Diagnose rough running before changing settings
Difficult starting, hesitation, an uneven idle or excessive fuel consumption can prompt a carburettor enquiry, but the carburettor is only one part of the engine system.
Ignition condition and timing, fuel supply, intake leaks and the engine's mechanical health also need consideration. Holley's fault-finding guidance explains why tuning or replacing a carburettor cannot correct unrelated engine faults.
Tell us when the issue happens, whether the engine is hot or cold, and what has already been adjusted or replaced. This helps distinguish a servicing requirement from a broader diagnostic job.
Rebuilding a removed carburettor
Supply the make, model and identification numbers, plus photographs of the complete assembly. Include the vehicle and engine details, any known faults and whether brackets, linkage or other parts are missing.
Discuss the work before sending a dismantled unit. Agree which parts will be supplied, which can be reused and whether the job includes reassembly. An inventory is helpful for assemblies arriving in several pieces.
A bench service can address the carburettor itself. Final setup may still need the complete running vehicle so that the installation and engine can be assessed together.
Setting up a modified or multi-carb engine
For tuning, tell us the engine capacity, camshaft and ignition details, intake and exhaust changes, current jets or needles if known, and how the vehicle will be used.
On a multi-carb installation, linkage operation and balance form part of the setup. Road manners, drivability and the demands of competition all affect the intended result.
