On the diesels we see most often, the swirl flaps are a shaft and a set of plates inside the inlet manifold. When the plastic or the bearings let go, the pieces go into the engine. Llandow Tuning repairs or replaces that hardware, and we remove the flaps when that is the job you have asked for.
Either way the manifold comes off. That is the inlet manifold job: gaskets, joint faces, and whatever else is due while it is apart. If the ports are full of carbon, walnut blasting is booked at the same time so the head is only opened up once.

A manifold on the bench in the workshop, with the flap linkage off to one side. The quote says whether those flaps are being repaired or taken out.
The flaps and the linkage are put back into working order, or replaced, and the manifold is refitted with the gaskets that engine uses. This is the job when you want the manifold doing what it was designed to do.
The flaps come out and the ports are blanked. Say so when you enquire. The parts, the time and the refit are quoted for that job, not for a repair.
BMW diesels and VAG diesels are the common ones. The registration tells us whether this engine has flaps in the manifold. Send the mileage and any warning lights with it.
The workshop is at Unit 11 Sambucus Avenue, Llandow Trading Estate, Llandow, CF71 7PB.
