We get to see many incredible classic cars at Llandow Tuning. However, the ones we truly love are those that our customers have worked on themselves. Some even paint their cars, and while they might not win any awards for the ultimate paint finish, they end up with a car they know intimately and had the joy of working on.

I understand that not everyone has the time or skill to work on their own car, but those who do often come in brimming with passion for their vehicle. That’s not to say those who don’t work on their own cars lack passion; it's just a different kind.

Those who do it themselves seem to have a personal stake in their car, and it really shows when they visit us—their enthusiasm is contagious.

I'll be honest, sometimes a car comes in that looks great but isn't the kind of thing you'd want to work on. A Lamborghini might be a prime example. But when someone comes in with even a Robin Reliant and they love their car, we do too. It's not really about the money; it's about sharing a person's passion for their vehicle.
We get great satisfaction from making a car run a little better for someone who truly loves it.

Quite often, when a car has been bought from a classic car trader or one of these classic car buyers, the customer sees the car slightly differently. It’s not that they don’t love the car; they just don’t have the same connection or understanding of its limitations. Its seen as an object they are going to sell one day rather than something they put blood sweat and tears in to. Those who rebuild a car understand its shortcomings, whereas those who buy the car or get it restored elsewhere end up with someone else’s project, never really knowing why something was done a certain way.

The difference between each type of customer is so very obvious and it normally changes how and what they will do to the car going forward.

What sets us apart is our passion for classic cars and our small size. Unlike large restoration businesses which frankly label cars with numbers, we are a small, family-run operation.
