Kris Meeke and Noel O'Sullivan won Rali Ceredigion after three days on West Wales' closed roads, while the event left the British Rally Championship facing a three-way title showdown.

Meeke recovered from behind to beat Teemu Suninen and Antti Haapala. Second place was enough for the Finnish crew to secure the European Rally Championship title.

Ceredigion also hosted two BRC rounds. Max McRae and Cameron Fair won the first, with Meirion Evans and Dale Furniss taking the second. Osian Pryce and James Morgan retired on Sunday with a gearbox problem.

Just two points separated the three leading BRC crews before the Cambrian Rally finale, giving the remaining Welsh round substantial championship significance.

The National Rally brought another local success: Rhys Wyn Davies and Gerwyn James won in a Welsh-built Darrian GTR+. Dyfrig James and Trystan Evans also reached the Historic event's podium in their Ford Escort.
