Motorsport UK has confirmed a new set of National Competition Rules changes for 2027, including an Impact Data Recorder requirement for vehicles in relevant race, stage rally and rallycross competition from 1 January.

The Board-approved update also requires marshals undertaking roles at Race events to hold current Motorsport UK marshal registration from that date. Circuit racing procedures for Safety Cars, race stoppages and multi-driver entries have been revised. Other changes cover junior Cross Country opportunities, Autotest and Autosolo eligibility, medical requirements and officials’ procedures.

Motorsport UK's rule-change guide says National GT cars will be permitted in UK stage rally up to Class 3. The governing body has published a discipline-by-discipline list for competitors, clubs and officials to check before the new season.
