Britain's return to the World Rally Championship now has confirmed dates. Rally Scotland will run from 30 September to 3 October 2027 as part of a 15-round calendar approved by the FIA World Motor Sport Council.

The FIA's announcement on 8 October makes the Aberdeen-based event the championship's first British round since 2019. For Welsh rally followers, it also brings a home event into the season after Elfyn Evans secured the 2026 drivers' title.

Scotland's event programme

Motorsport UK says the wider programme begins on 28 September, with two days of reconnaissance for crews to prepare their pace notes. Shakedown follows on Thursday 30 September, with competition starting that evening and further stages from Friday to Sunday.

Rally headquarters and the service park will be at The Event Complex Aberdeen. The competitive route will use closed forest gravel roads across north-east Scotland. The earlier 28 September date therefore refers to preparations ahead of the championship round.

Changes across the championship

The United States returns on 26–29 August, its first WRC appearance since 1988. Rally d'Italia joins on 8–11 July, bringing an asphalt event around Rome and the Lazio region from the European Rally Championship to the world series.

Monte-Carlo opens the season on 21–24 January, while Saudi Arabia hosts the final round on 25–28 November. The calendar accompanies the introduction of the WRC27 technical regulations, which the FIA says are intended to lower costs and broaden participation.
