British racer Deagen Fairclough heads to the GB3 season finale at Barcelona chasing championship leader Nikita Bedrin, who needs 14 points across the weekend to secure the title.
According to GB3, VRD Racing driver Bedrin held an 89-point advantage over Hitech driver Fairclough before the 6–8 November meeting, with a maximum of 102 points available. A finish of seventh or better in the first race would guarantee Bedrin the championship.
Fairclough has won six of the previous nine races and has seven victories for the season, one more than Bedrin. Xcel Motorsport driver Lucas Fluxa and Rodin Motorsport driver Martin Molnar also remain mathematically in contention before qualifying.
The championship expects 25 drivers for its first visit to the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, matching its record grid. British F4 runner-up Theo Palmer is set to make his GB3 debut with Hitech, while GB4 runner-up Fred Green joins Elite Motorsport.
Rodin leads the teams championship by 16 points from VRD ahead of the finale; Hitech and Xcel are also in contention. Qualifying and the opening race are scheduled for Saturday, followed by two races on Sunday.
