Sami Pajari won Rally del Paraguay to become the first driver whose opening three WRC victories came in consecutive rounds, while Elfyn Evans retained the championship lead.
Pajari overcame a first-stage water leak, reaching service before the problem was fully repaired. He subsequently took control and finished 25.8 seconds clear.
The rally tested reliability as well as speed. Rough surfaces, hidden rocks, heat and threatened heavy rain prompted Toyota to fit snorkel systems during the event.
Evans and Scott Martin briefly led on Friday but lost around a minute with tyre damage. They recovered fourth overall, missing a podium by 5.1 seconds, and left with a twenty-point advantage over Pajari.
In WRC2, Diego Domínguez won on home roads as the GR Yaris Rally2 achieved its first category podium sweep. British driver Gus Greensmith finished second with Jonas Andersson, adding another British interest to a demanding South American round.
