The Fairfield Merlin Stages Rally at Pembrey on 28 July 2024 attracted more applications than available places before entries closed, according to the circuit's 19 July preview.
The event counted towards the Welsh National Tarmacadam Championship and TPS Rally Challenge. Phil Turner and Paul Williams were returning in a Ford Fiesta R5 after their Jaffa Stages win, while Ian Hucklebridge had chosen the meeting to debut his own Fiesta R5.
The announced field also included Darrians, Escorts and Gilberns. Fifteen Formula 1000 Junior rally entries were listed for drivers aged fourteen to seventeen, running behind the main field. Crews were scheduled to tackle six stages, with the first car due to start at 09:30.
