Lando Norris took pole position for the Sao Paulo Grand Prix after a rain-affected qualifying session at Interlagos on 7 November.

The McLaren driver set a best lap of 1 minute 27.470 seconds, beating Mercedes driver George Russell by 0.204 seconds in the final qualifying classification. World champion Kimi Antonelli was third, followed by Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc and Racing Bulls racer Liam Lawson.

Russell faces a five-place grid penalty for exceeding his power-unit allocation. In the FIA provisional starting grid issued after qualifying, Antonelli moves alongside Norris on the front row, while Russell is listed seventh.

Leclerc qualified fourth but is listed 14th on the provisional grid after a separate power-unit penalty. Fellow Ferrari driver Lewis Hamilton qualified 11th and is listed 20th after further engine component penalties.

The race is scheduled for Sunday 8 November. Starting positions remain subject to any further changes before the Grand Prix.
