Kimi Antonelli will start the United States Grand Prix from pole after setting the fastest time in qualifying at Austin on 24 October. His 1:34.035 lap was 0.179 seconds quicker than Max Verstappen, with Isack Hadjar third, as Antonelli claimed his seventh pole of the 2026 season.
The result keeps the championship leader in position to fight for the title at Sunday’s race. Lewis Hamilton qualified fifth for Ferrari, while George Russell was sixth in the second Mercedes. McLaren’s Lando Norris lost his fastest Q3 lap to a track-limits deletion and will start eighth behind team-mate Oscar Piastri.
The 56-lap Grand Prix is scheduled for 15:00 local time on Sunday at the Circuit of the Americas. Antonelli said the gusting wind made the final qualifying session difficult and that the start would be important as he tries to convert pole into victory.
