Blendini Motorsport announced a returning Mazda MX-5 scholarship on 6 March 2015, with the winner offered a year's free racing with the team in the SuperCup.
The competition was intended to find a driver for its 2015 programme, and the announcement directed prospective entrants to the team's scholarship information. Blendini was founded by Tom Roche in 2010; he had joined the SuperCup in 2014 after winning the 2013 BRSCC Mazda MX-5 Championship.
