Turbo & Supercharger Conversions for your Skoda Octavia
Adding a turbo or supercharger can offer more power from an engine that currently has neither. It is a substantial conversion, so we discuss the engine, supporting upgrades, fitting and custom tuning before you commit to parts.
Choosing a turbo or supercharger conversion
Both approaches push more air into the engine, allowing it to burn more fuel and produce more power. They place extra demands on the engine and can give the car a different driving character.
- Fitting space and the response you want help determine which approach is suitable.
- The engine's compression ratio and internal parts affect how much extra load it can handle.
- The cost needs to include the whole conversion, supporting upgrades and tuning.
Supporting upgrades
We will explain the changes needed around the engine as well as the turbo or supercharger itself.
- Manifolds, intake, intercooling, exhaust and oil or coolant connections need to suit the conversion.
- Fuel pumps, injectors, sensors, engine management and engine ventilation may need upgrading.
- Engine condition, cooling, clutch or gearbox and brakes need consideration as part of the complete car.
Custom tuning and dyno testing
A conversion needs suitable engine management and a tune developed for the new parts. We build up engine load in stages on the dyno while checking its response.
- Initial checks cover sensor readings, fuel delivery, boost control and engine protection settings.
- Testing tracks the air/fuel mixture, pressures and temperatures as load increases, with knock checks on petrol engines.
- Final checks consider how the car drives as well as whether dyno results remain consistent.

- Engine condition, mileage, service history and any recent compression-test results.
- Your preferred turbo or supercharger option, usual fuel and intended use.
- Existing engine management, fuel, exhaust, cooling, transmission and chassis changes, plus any kit you already own.
