Toyota announced a sixth consecutive WRC manufacturers' championship after Oliver Solberg won Rally Chile, with the title subject to publication of the FIA's official results.
Solberg and Elliott Edmondson led from the wet opening stages and finished 16.6 seconds ahead of Sébastien Ogier. The victory was Solberg's second of the season and Toyota's eleventh from twelve rallies.
Elfyn Evans and Scott Martin had challenged near the front before stopping to change a tyre on the penultimate stage. The resulting two-minute loss dropped them to fifth overall.
Evans recovered second place on the Power Stage and retained a seventeen-point championship advantage over Sami Pajari, with Solberg a further four points behind.
Toyota's reported title matched Lancia's record of six successive manufacturers' crowns and brought both marques level on ten overall. For Evans, the immediate concern remained defending his drivers' lead after another costly tyre problem.
