Motorsport UK has published an evaluation of three programmes intended to help young people discover the sport and progress towards education, training and employment.
The Inclusion Impact Report examined Race for Diversity, Girls on Track Regional Hubs and the Motorsport UK Inclusion Hub over three years.
According to the governing body's published summary, the programmes reached 38,426 people and directly supported 4,300 young participants. More than ninety per cent of those supported came from Pupil Premium backgrounds.
The evaluation also recorded 212 training and employment opportunities, sixty school and charity partnerships and 110 engagement events. Participants reported increased confidence, stronger networks and better awareness of the range of motorsport careers.
The findings have informed Motorsport UK's updated equality, diversity and inclusion strategy. They provide an account of participation and progression beyond racing results, with practical routes into engineering, apprenticeships, study and volunteering among the outcomes described.
