Motorsport UK has announced a Growth Grant Scheme offering up to £250,000 a year for projects that develop clubs, improve facilities and train the people who organise the sport. Its first application window closes on 19 October 2026.

The governing body's announcement on 2 October sets out four opportunities to apply each year. Awards will depend on the quality, practical impact and deliverability of proposals, rather than simply dividing the annual budget between applicants.

Projects and volunteer training

The scheme's published guidance groups potential projects into community and promotion, venues and equipment, and training. Examples include mentoring schemes, improvements to venues and storage, shared equipment, marshal training, and rescue and recovery training.

The guidance identifies recognised clubs and organisations affiliated with Motorsport UK as the route through which volunteers, marshals, trainers and officials can receive support. For Welsh clubs considering new activities or volunteer development, that makes the eligibility and expenditure rules an important part of preparing a proposal.

Successful applications can receive up to 75% of final actual costs. The panel reviews submissions after each window closes; its timetable places the first round's awards in early November.

What applicants need

Applications go through the scheme's online form. Community, venue and equipment proposals require a project summary, timing, costs and three supporting quotations. Training proposals require details including the date, venue, discipline, participants' experience and estimated budget.

Motorsport UK directs applicants to its full guidance before submitting. The application link and supporting information are available on the governing body's Growth Grant Scheme page.
