The FIA Formula Regional European Championship will grow to 36 cars in 2027 after 12 teams were selected for its second season, up from ten teams and 30 cars in the inaugural year.
Invicta Racing and LN4 Fusion are the new entrants; all ten existing teams reapplied. The FIA identifies Invicta as a UK-based outfit and says LN4 Fusion, co-founded by Formula 1 world champion Lando Norris, has a UK base as well as its operation in northern Italy. Rodin Motorsport is among the returning teams.
The FIA’s provisional calendar runs for ten events from April to October, with the season starting in Portimão on 8–11 April. A planned Hungaroring round in support of Formula 1 remains subject to contract. The 2027 team expansion follows the calendar announcement on 7 October.
