The FIA announced a global partnership with Amazon Web Services on 28 October, naming AWS its artificial intelligence, cloud computing, machine learning and cloud infrastructure partner. The federation says it will use AWS high-performance computing for aerodynamic simulations that inform future single-seater regulations, and AI tools for technical and engineering work on safety, performance and sustainability.
The agreement also extends beyond vehicle design. The FIA says its existing digital licensing platform, launched with AWS last year, is expanding to more national sporting authorities and will gain event-management tools for officials and volunteers. The FIA says the work supports its stated ambition to double participation in motor sport worldwide.
