George Russell and Lewis Hamilton finished second and third at Silverstone as Charles Leclerc won a British Grand Prix shaped by late mechanical trouble and a Safety Car.
Ferrari's Leclerc led after a strong start, while Mercedes championship leader Kimi Antonelli extended his opening stint before pursuing him. Antonelli's challenge unravelled when the team reported a left-front wheel shield problem on lap 41. Further stops and a track-limits penalty eventually left him classified 16th.
Max Verstappen's spin into the gravel on lap 48 brought out the Safety Car. Russell stayed on track while others stopped, moving ahead of Hamilton before the race finished under caution.
Hamilton kept third after a post-race yellow-flag investigation resulted in a reprimand. Lando Norris added fourth for McLaren, giving the home crowd three British drivers in the leading four. Leclerc's success was his ninth Formula 1 victory.
