Dries Van Langendonck provisionally secured the 2026 British F4 drivers' title at Brands Hatch on Saturday 10 October, finishing second behind Hitech's Theo Palmer in the opening race of the season finale.

The 16-year-old Belgian, a McLaren development driver racing for Rodin Motorsport, had arrived with a 72-point advantage. British F4's official report says his Saturday result settled the championship with two races still to run.

Palmer wins as the title is settled

The amended timing sheet records Palmer's victory over 14 laps, with Van Langendonck 3.944 seconds behind. George Proudford-Nalder took third for Virtuosi Racing after Ethan Lennon received a five-second penalty for a start infringement, dropping the Rodin driver from third on the road to sixth.

Palmer also set the race's fastest lap. His success helped Hitech secure an unassailable Team's Cup lead, according to the championship's report.

The standings issued on Saturday evening put Van Langendonck on 338 points after penalties, ahead of Palmer on 267.5 and Lewis Wherrell on 248. They also show Hitech leading Rodin by 100.5 points in the teams' competition.

Results remain provisional

Both the amended race classification and championship points sheet state that they remain provisional pending judicial or technical matters. The title is therefore reported on that basis.

The two remaining races are scheduled for Sunday 11 October. Van Langendonck's Rookie Cup campaign was still unresolved when Saturday's report was published; this report does not include Sunday's results.
