Freddie Slater finished second in the 2026 Formula 3 championship after Ugo Ugochukwu secured the title with second place in Madrid's final Feature Race.
MP Motorsport's Tuukka Taponen led every lap to take his first series victory. Ugochukwu stayed close behind while keeping Rodin Motorsport's Pedro Clerot in third, completing the points haul needed for the championship.
Slater's attempt to recover through the field was harder. He passed Yevan David but could not clear Enzo Deligny, eventually finishing eighth in the official race report.
The final standings placed Ugochukwu on 159 points and Slater on 145, a fourteen-point difference. Taponen's win moved him into third overall ahead of Taito Kato. Campos Racing also ended the season as Teams' Champions. The finale therefore settled both the British driver's title challenge and the order of several leading prospects on the junior single-seater ladder.
