British driver Alex Quinn will move into a full-time Team Peugeot TotalEnergies race seat in the World Endurance Championship in 2027, under a multi-year agreement announced by the manufacturer on 8 October.

Quinn has spent 2026 as the team's test and development driver, working on the Peugeot 9X8. His first outing in the car came at the WEC Rookie Test in Bahrain in November 2025, before Peugeot brought him into its development programme.

Team principal Emmanuel Esnault cited Quinn's testing work and performances in LMP2 in explaining the promotion. He said Quinn would race the evolved 9X8 next season, taking the driver from development duties into Hypercar competition.

The championship's account places the move in the context of Quinn's switch from single-seaters to endurance racing in 2023. His initial IMSA LMP2 campaign with PR1/Mathiasen Motorsports produced two podiums from four starts that year.

At 25, Quinn now has a factory race role following that progression through junior racing, LMP2 and Peugeot's testing programme.
