Vehicle fault assessment in South Wales

A clear starting point for a vehicle problem

If your vehicle has a warning light, poor performance or a recurring fault, start by explaining the symptoms. At Llandow Tuning in South Wales, an initial assessment helps us decide which system needs investigation and what to test next.

What does an initial assessment involve?

We begin with the problem you have noticed and the work already carried out. A diagnostic scan of the relevant system can provide fault codes and supporting information, which we use to develop a test plan.

A code scan is a starting point for diagnosis. It does not, by itself, confirm which part should be replaced. Some concerns need live data, electrical checks or further mechanical investigation before a repair can be recommended.

Free initial assessment and further diagnosis

Ask about our free initial assessment offer when you contact us. This is an opportunity to review the concern and discuss the next step; it is not a promise of a complete diagnosis or repair during the initial visit.

The scope of further testing depends on the fault, access to components and whether the symptoms can be reproduced. Intermittent problems are particularly useful to document before the visit.

Help us reproduce the problem

  • Note whether the fault happens on a cold start, after warming up, at a particular speed or under load.
  • Keep photographs of warning messages and any existing diagnostic reports.
  • List recent servicing, repairs, software changes and modifications.
  • Tell us if the vehicle has stopped starting or cannot be brought to the workshop under its own power.

What happens after assessment?

We discuss the findings and the next useful action. That might be further engine diagnostics, ECU testing, immobiliser investigation or a repair relevant to the confirmed fault.

If the vehicle runs and you mainly want to understand its condition before tuning, our engine checkover may be a better fit. Include your objective in the enquiry so the visit can be planned around it.
